An Airport is a place where aircraft take off and land, usually equipped with hard-surfaced landing strips, a control tower, hangars, aircraft maintains and refueling facilities and accommodation for passengers and cargo. An airport is an aerodrome with facilities for commercial aviation flights to take off and land. Airports often have facilities to store and maintain aircraft and a control tower
The Pune International Airport is a greenfield airport project under development, 40 km north of Pune, Maharashtra. The land at the airport, more than 1700 hectares. The AAI has approved the site and stated that it is the most " conducive site" as it was obstruction-free. "It is barren land & there is also no natural obstruction," said the official on the site proposal. The AAI in their master plan has stated that the required plot of land would measure 6.34 km X 2 km.
Pune is a growing center in the automobile, education and Information technology industries. On the other hand, there is a growing demand for air traffic into Pune from the automobile and information technology industries. Many foreign students from more than 70 countries and students from other towns and cities in India come to Pune for education. There is also a growing demand for agricultural and floricultural trade.

Concept And proposal
Double Glaze filled with nitrogen gas or vacuum type glass is used for the facades so that light can be only allowed to enter not heat. Even Airport has indoor gardens at various level ultimately inner temperature or climate get maintained and clean. The Airport roof is covered by 175000 sq.m of solar panels it creates 26250 kWp of the electricity and that electricity is used for various airport operations. Ultimately using this technique, makes this airport terminal building sustainable, less energy-consuming building.
